Prof. Zouheir Sekkat is a Professor of University Mohamed V, Rabat, Director of the Optics & Photonics Center, Professor of University Mohamed V, Rabat, the Moroccan Foundation for Science Innovation and Research (MAScIR), Rabat, Morocco; Morocco and Cross-Appointed Professor of Osaka University, Japan. He is also Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences; Fellow of SPIE; Fellow of OSA and Vice-Chair of the African Laser Center (ALC).
He is President of the Moroccan Association of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (AMANAT), Chair of SPIE Conference “Molecular and Nano Machines”, SPIE, San Diego, USA, recipient of the 2021 Elsevier Recognition as the author of one of the most cited / downloaded paper, i.e. top 1 %, in J. Appl. Phys. B. in the last four decades in all area of optics and Photonics, Recipient of the Elsevier Prize in 2006 for the most cited paper in Morocco, Recipient of the 2015 Prize from UM5R for the best socio-economic project, Recipient of the 2010 Distinction Prize from the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and Research and has been appointed in 2006 Corresponding Member of the Academy Hassan II of Science and Technology, Morocco.
Dr Sekkat has published more than 170 peer reviewed papers with an h-index 36 and total citations exceeding 4500. Dr Sekkat has received grants from Morocco Ministry of Research, Moroccan Industry, South Africa in the framework of the ALC and Europe, in the framework of H2020 projects.Go Back
