Experimental activity on active vibration control of composite plates.
McGill University

Dr. Giovanni Ferrari obtained a Ph.D. from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, after completing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Parma, Italy. He is a post-doctoral fellow at McGill University, where he directs the experimental activity of the group of professor Amabili. He published in prestigious journals, such as Physical Review X. The focus of his research is the experimental study of the nonlinear dynamics and active vibration control of advanced composite structures. He uses advanced three-dimensional laser Doppler vibrometry for non-contact measurements and nonlinear damping identification. He cooperates with a world-leading company in the nuclear industry to conduct experiments on dynamics with fluid-structure interaction.
