Fernando Albarracin-Vargas received master’s degree and the PhD with a major in radiofrequency and propagation engineering from the Carlos III University in Madrid, Spain, in 2014 and 2017. From 2018 to 2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher with the EM Compatibility Group, EMC-UN, at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia. He received the Young Scientist Award from International Union of Radio Science in 2020. He is currently working as a lead researcher in the Directed Energy Research Centre at Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE. His present research interests include ultrawideband antennas for pulsed HPEM radiators, frequency selective surfaces for IEMI applications, and pulsed forming networks for HPM sources.
